Each week I spend a good chunk of time doomscrolling social media and reading articles to find the best fishing videos and stories posted recently.
I don't just look for what got the most views, likes, or shares in any given week.
Instead, I try to find those hidden gems that are popular, but aren't getting as much love as I think they deserve.
This week, I found these three videos and a story that I absolutely think are worth your time to check out!
Daniel Caricaburu-Lundin recently landed a monster smallmouth on his own homemade glide bait in an Idaho Lake. It measured in just short of 23 inches, which blows the current IGFA record out of the water.
However, since it wasn't measured on an official IGFA board, it doesn't count for the record.
I've been lucky enough to do a lot of cool things while fishing. However, I've never done anything as cool as catching this many 9-pound bass in one spot like @fishin48 and @probassadventuresmexico did. 47.4 pounds of bass in one area is insane.
I have tried fishing from a stand-up paddleboard exactly one time. It was on Lake Superior, and I got a lot of crazy looks from other anglers. I wish so badly that I could have hooked into a monster fish like @thejoedangershow did in this video to show them up (yes, I know there aren't tarpon in Lake Superior).
I've definitely had to hand-line a fish or two in my lifetime, but it's never been because of a broken rod. Check out this big laker that @dawsonschwarz was able to land after his rod snapped in half.
